The objective of article is to compare the contribution of directors and technicians of foreign origin in cinematographies of Argentina and Brazil between 1932 and 1942. In Argentina it is possible to note the presence of professionals such as cinematographers John Alton (Hungarian) and Francis Boeniger (Swiss), the editor Laszlo Kish (Hungarian) or the set designer Gori Muñoz (Spanish). In Brazil, the presence of foreigners was less marked, although there are cases of cinematographers George Fanto (Hungarian) and Aquilino Mendes (Portuguese) or director Chianca de Garcia (Portuguese). The article lists the main foreign professionals working in the two cinematographies, the contributions for the development of both, and the motivations for the foreigners to find more space in Argentina.
