In this work, we propose a conceptual approach between journalism and literature based on the examination of narrative procedures and possible dialogues in two pairs of genres belonging to these two fields: chronicle and in-depth reporting, on one hand; and biography and journalistic profile, on the other. Inspired by authors’ analysis on the structural configuration of genres in journalism theory, language studies and literary theory, we analyze some examples of productions to understand that, despite its referential assumptions, journalism is crossed by literary narrativity in interpretive texts, benefiting in style, quality and relevance as it incorporates literature into its language and its way of dealing with reality.
