This study discusses labour and environment in the capitalist system, where are emphasized the social and environmental consequences of the current crisis and the need for Decent Work and Green Jobs. Structural and cultural barriers to the establishment of these sustainable initiatives were identified. It seems to be urgent to address them in the transition towards sustainability. Capitalism based on unlimited growth, domination by capital and materialistic ethics does not fully fit the practice of Decent Work and Green Jobs, which are solutions aligned with sustainable development.
