The article discusses the meaning of authorship in practice of the called journalism diversional, that stands out for its function of amusing – in other words, for the “esthetic pleasure” provided to potential audiences –, carried out with the use of expressive resources owned to literature, responsible for paralleling daily life narratives to fictional pieces of work. We are supported by bibliographical review and by observations based on journalists’ reports especially by supporters of the genre, who granted us interviews, we discuss that, focusing our research interest, authorship goes very much beyond the signature of a text or even the possibility of accomplishing reportage with literary aspects. To be an author, in this extent, is having skills and conditions to develop a style of his/her own – in general, noted by others – without stopping paying attention to basic demands of the activity.
