This article examines the updates of Paikian audiovisualities in recent video art practices, drawing on the analysis of selected works by Doug Aitken and Haroon Mirza, artists who have been awarded the Nam June Paik Prize. Through a qualitative and theoretical-analytical approach, the study articulates the fields of technique, aesthetics, and the philosophy of the image, with an emphasis on the notion of duration, as reinterpreted by Henri Bergson through Gilles Deleuze. The analyzed works establish non-linear, sensorially intense immersive experiences, marked by suspension, noise, and discontinuous flow. By critically reconfiguring time and modes of listening and visuality, Aitken and Mirza expand Paik’s gesture, proposing new forms of audiovisual presence within the context of technoculture.
