Guy Debord's critique of the society of the spectacle, of capitalism as a radical departure from life, will mobilize the author's personal trajectory towards confrontation and struggle against his time. Cinema will be decisive in this confrontation, in this struggle, in this strategy. The purpose of this article is precisely to investigate the films of the French Situationist, breaking the aura of invisibility that until today surrounds them. While venturing into this cinema, we come up against the avant-garde intentions of Debord, the modernity of cinema, the expansion of documentary's vernacular, the scrambled discussion about cliché, and films as urgent and original as they are unknown.
